What is Squawk? 

Traditionally, Squawk Boxes are used by brokerage firms, trading floors, investment banks and brokerages. A Squawk Box is an intercom that lets analysts and traders communicate with brokers. 

However, nowadays, Audio Squawks are used by traders all over the world to get audio alerts to key information. 

Squawk is an audio live stream that alerts you to key market news and numbers. Squawk alerts may include:

Benzinga Pro’s Squawk focuses on key headlines and real-time market news. Our newsdesk broadcasts Squawk from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. eastern time to alert you to key headlines, breaking news, rumors, volume spikes, and more.

While Squawk runs from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Benzinga only broadcasts the news you need to know, so you don’t have to worry about a constant stream of news. Squawk helps filter out the noise and notify you of the key headlines and data. 

However over the Squawk icon on the left side of Benzinga Pro. When you hover, it will expand to open the Squawk menu. 

On the left side of the menu, you can pause or play the audio stream. You can also mute, adjust volume, and check your connection status in the menu. 

For the status menu, green indicates a solid connection and grey indicates the connection has stopped, and you need to press play for audio to continue.
